what to expect sunday
Visiting a church for the first time can feel a little overwhelming. Where do I go? What should I wear? What time does it start? Is there something for my kids? What should I expect? These are all normal questions—and we want to help put your mind at ease. We want your first visit to Peak View Baptist Church to be friendly, encouraging, and uplifting for the whole family. From soul-stirring music and practical, Bible-based teaching to a warm, welcoming community, we want you to feel right at home from the moment you arrive.

Questions are a good thing!
We want to make it as easy as we can to plan your visit! Below are some of the most commonly asked questions about visiting in a church, but we’ve also provided a video to help you know exactly where to go, when you come, and what to expect.
We hope you will visit us soon! We love our church (it is really God’s church), and we think you will, too. If you have any other questions about your visit, please contact us!
When should I get there?
You can come anytime! But we recommend coming about ten minutes early (9:50 a.m.), so we can show you where everything is, and you can meet at least one or two people. We like the people of this church and think you will, too! If you have young children, you might wish to come by 9:45 the first time, to see where they will be, decide if you want to keep them in the service or leave them in the nursery, and get them checked in.
What about childcare?
Yes, we have dedicated and vetted volunteers who love children! Our nursery, for children up through age 3, is open for the entire morning service. Children from age 4 up through third grade stay through all the music, but then have their own class available during the sermon. We are a family-friendly church, and children are welcome throughout the entire service, if parents prefer.
What kind of music do you have?
Our music is reverential and enthusiastic, mostly hymns but also with some choruses included. See the “Music Ministry” section to hear a message which talks about our music or, better yet, watch a recent service!
What about bringing a Bible?
Most people bring a Bible, but if you don’t have one, that’s ok! We have Bibles you can use, and often we show the Bible verses on a screen. We use the King James Version in our services (you can download a free copy here).
What about the offering?
The offering is for members and regular attenders to express their love to God and commitment to the church. Visitors can give (of course!), but no one expects that. We don’t pass an offering plate (we use an offering box), so people give as and when they want, without pressure. The pastors don’t know who gives or how much.
