Know That God Loves You

God doesn’t just say He loves the world.  He proved it.  He sent Jesus, His Son, to die for all of us.  That’s real love!

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten [just like Him] Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish [die], but have everlasting life [Heaven].”
Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth [recommends] his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Accept that Jesus Christ is the Son of God

Jesus proved that He is the Son of God by doing miracles only God could do, and He proved it by rising from the dead.  Ordinary people can’t do that!

John 5:36 “The works [miracles] which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.”
Romans 1:3-4 “Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was […] declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.”

Admit That You Have Been Going the Wrong Way

The Bible says we all go our own way, the way we choose, rather than God’s way.  (Most people don’t stop to consider what God wants — we just live how we feel.)  The Bible calls this “sin.”

Isaiah 53:6 “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way […]”
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

Believe That Jesus is the Answer!

Our sin (going our own way) is against an infinite God, so there’s a high price to pay—death, and separation from Him in a horrible place called Hell.  But Jesus died to pay that price, and rose from the dead to prove that the Son of God was great enough to pay that price!

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day […]”

TRUST JESUS TO SAVE (RESCUE) YOU!

We need to believe that Jesus really will solve our sin problem, by paying for it, forgiving it, and giving us a new life with a heart that is towards God.  It’s not just a fresh start; it’s an internal change in our hearts that sets us on the right path — and He does it all!

Jesus said in John 3:7 “Ye must be born again.”
John 3:36 “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life […]”
