WHAT WE BELIEVE
As believers in Jesus Christ, we affirm together the following:
THE SCRIPTURES
We believe that the Bible, the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the complete, inspired, and preserved Word of God (II Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 40:8). The Bible is true in all it affirms to be true (John 17:17) and is the sole authority for the church in doctrine, practice, and morality of life (II Timothy 3:17).
GOD
We believe that God is Three in One, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). We believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son (John 1:1). Born of a virgin, He lived a sinless life, died, rose from the dead, and is coming again (Matthew 1:22-23, I Corinthians 15:3-4, John 14:3).
SALVATION
We believe that all people are sinners and must be born again if they are to be saved from God’s wrath and eternal punishment (Romans 3:23; John 3:3), but that God loves us and made a way for us to become His children (John 3:16). When Jesus died, He paid the price for our sins (I Peter 2:24). We must turn to God in faith, trusting in His grace for cleansing from sin, forgiveness, and new life in Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9). Those who do this have eternal life, receive the Holy Spirit in this life, and will spend eternity in Heaven (John 3:16, Romans 8:8-11).
CHRISTIAN LIFE
We believe we should do all that the Bible says pleases God, including believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and not do things that displease Him, including immorality, dishonesty, drunkenness, wrath, and selfishness (I John 2:15-17). We believe that for fellowship with God and the church, we must walk in the light (live as believers, I John 1:6-7), including repentance and confession to God if we sin (I John 1:8-9). As we try to live a Christian life, we know we need God working in us (Philippians 2:12-13).
